Is there such a thing as the perfect gym playlist?
I’ve been going to the gym regularly for the last four months or so. And for the last four months or so I’ve been constantly tweaking my ‘gym’ playlist on my iPod. I have songs which I usually love but for some reason they don’t do it for me when I’m working out.
At the moment, my playlist consists of (in alphabetical order):
- Meet Me Halfway – Black Eyed Peas
- World Hold On – Bob Sinclair
- Living on a Prayer – Bon Jovi
- Don’t Give Up – Bryan Adams and Chicane
- Jumbo Jumbo – The Caramel Club
- Galvanize – The Chemical Brothers
- Got to Be Real – Cheryl Lynn
- Offshore – Chicane
- Sexy Bitch – David Guetta and Akon
- Under Your Spell – Desire
- The Love I Have For You – Dina Vass
- You Know What’s Up – Donnell Jones
- I Like It – Enrique Iglesias and Pitbull
- Fastlove (Forthright Edition) – George Michael
- Don’t Stop Believin’ – Glee Cast
- Teenage Dream – Glee Cast
- Infinity – Guru Josh Project
- Fame – Irene Cara
- On the Floor – Jennifer Lopez and Pitbull
- Man in Motion – John Parr
- Rock Your Body – Justin Timberlake
- Nightcall – Kavinsky
- Acapella – Kelis
- Danger Zone – Kenny Loggins
- Playing with the Boys – Kenny Loggins
- Footlose – Kenny Loggins
- I’m Free – Kenny Loggins
- Mr Brightside – The Killers
- All Night Long (House Remix) – Lionel Richie
- I’m in Miami Bitch – LMFAO
- Party Rock Anthem – LMFAO
- Into the Groove – Madonna
- Open Your Heart – Madonna
- Moves Like Jagger – Maroon 5
- The Weekend – Michael Gray
- Don’t Stop Till You Get Enough – Michael Jackson
- Remember the Time (New Jack Mix) – Michael Jackson
- Doctor Pressure (Dirty Radio Edit) – Mylo
- Closer – Ne-Yo
- Because of You – Ne-Yo
- Give Me Everything – Pitbull
- Calle Ocho – Pitbull
- 1999 – Prince
- Let’s Go Crazy – Prince
- Don’t You (Forget About Me) – Simple Minds
- Fade – Solu Music
- The Way I Are – Timbaland
- DJ Got Us Fallin’ In Love – Usher
- Somebody to Love – Usher and Justin Bieber
The playlist is usually in ‘shuffle’ mode and I have no idea what’s coming next. I like that. It makes me laugh when I’ve had enough and am just about to stop and the next song is ‘Don’t Give Up’, or I’m halfway through my cardio session and ‘Living on a Prayer’ comes on (‘Oh, we’re halfway there… oh-oh, living on a prayer…) (and there’s that synchronicity again). And, yes, some of it is cheesy but I don’t care.
What am I missing? What works for you??
