I don’t usually read any horoscopes, let alone Virgo, but it’s on the same page as the crossword. It should be It’s.
The jury’s out on this one. It used to be thought that fetus was the American spelling of foetus, but this has now been proven to be incorrect. Geoffrey Chamberlain, who was once editor of the British Journal of Obstetrics and Gynaecology or BJOG (long before I worked there), discovered that fetus is derived from Latin, so the œ ligature (which indicates a word of Greek origin) is invalid. Frankly, if it’s good enough for the BJOG, it’s good enough for me.
