I had my first session in seven weeks with Trevor on Sunday morning. I’d been away (London, Ibiza, London, Jamaica, London) and had done hardly any exercise in that time (apart from a week-long yoga retreat in Ocho Rios, Jamaica – where I managed to get into crow pose for the very first time!). I did a 5-minute warm-up on the cross-trainer and then did 15 minutes on the treadmills, varying speeds between 5 km/h and 7 km/h.
I then did the following circuit with a weighted bar:
- Deadlifts x 20
- Good mornings x 10
- Wide legged squats x 10
- Reverse lunges x 10 on each side
This circuit followed:
- Standing piston press (with 3-kg weights) x 10 on each side
- Tricep dips x 20
- Mountain climbers x 60
- Reverse curls x 20
- Toe touches x 20
- Russian twists x 20
- Side hip raises x 10 on each side
There was some stretching after that and I was done. After such a long break it could have been much harder but I definitely did feel less fit than I did when I left. Funnily enough Trevor thought I looked thinner after my holiday!
That was the only workout I did during the week. I’m trying to get back into a routine but I’d been out a few times and just got lazy.
Low point of the week? I’ve been catching up with friends ever since I got back to Dubai and I’ve been going out too much. And drinking too much. And eating too much. I also changed my phone so all my data in the Libra app didn’t transfer over and I’ve lost it all!
High point of the week? On the other hand, by losing all that data I can start from scratch and watch my weight go down rather than focus on how much I’ve put on in the last year! I also go in touch with my old yoga teacher and will start lessons again next week. I’m excited!
Weight loss? None (yet).
