I am by no means an astrologer, but I feel October is going to be a very significant month for many people. The month begins and ends with full moons – the full moon in Aries is on 1 October and the full moon in Taurus (a blue moon) is on 31 October. Aries
The Ace of Swords is the gift of knowledge and understanding. You can expect a flash of insight or an idea that will help solve a particularly sticky problem or experience a moment of truth. If you want to communicate something with clarity and just the right words, the energy to accomplish that is present at this time. It can also represent a new point of view, discovery or intellectual achievement. Take action on something you’ve been avoiding for fear of failure.
Taurus
The Knight of Swords is a master of logic and reason. He has a keen intellect that grasps the fine points of any subject. He speaks clearly, directly and always with authority. His judgements are sure and free of emotion. On the other hand, this Knight is not a master of diplomacy. He can be downright tactless and rude. When he thinks you’re wrong, you’ll know it. To him, feelings are irrelevant and illogical. This month ask yourself whether this Knight’s energy is helping or hurting you. Are you too emotional? Let your head rule your heart. Are you afraid to offend? Speak your mind. Try to find a happy medium between his two extremes.
Gemini

It could represent a legal situation that will be resolved in your favour. This card is also a reminder to balance your physical concerns with spiritual growth.
Cancer
The Knight of Wands is impetuous, impatient, generous and ambitious. He is willing to go anywhere and do anything and is happiest when he has a clear goal. He is probably very popular and the type of person people like to be around. On the other hand, he can be unreliable. Because he is impatient and impetuous, he can lose interest in the task at hand and run after the next shiny new challenge. Use this Knight’s energy to your advantage. If you’re in a rut, try something new. If you get bogged down by details, try winging it for a change. Again, on the other hand, if you’re angry and impatient all the time, or cocky rather than confident, it may be time for a change.
Leo
The 4 of Cups represents self-absorption, apathy and boredom. You may have been disappointed by someone or something and now you are emotionally stuck. You don’t like what’s in front of you and you can’t be bothered to look further than your own brooding mind. It’s a shame because if you listen to the voice of wisdom, you will look up and see that what you need is not far away. You need something to focus on that will so engage your mind and heart that your path becomes clear again. Open yourself to your surroundings. How about saying yes to every opportunity that comes your way this month?
Virgo
The 5 of Pentacles indicates going through rough times, either physically or financially. That is hard enough, but this card carries a more distressing message. You are letting these hard times erode your spirit, your faith and your desire. You don’t have the energy to get through this time. You have no faith that things will turn around. You don’t even desire to seek the help that may be available. Look at the image on the card, the key to the door is right there but you’d rather keep your head down than help yourself. It’s time to change that.
Libra
The Queen of Pentacles is very down-to-earth. She loves to garden, cook, bake, sew or anything that can make her environment more beautiful, comfortable and efficient. And she is good at everything she does. She loves to make plans and lists. She is practical and efficient. She can run the perfect household or a successful business with equal grace. While she enjoys external recognition, she gets even more satisfaction through accomplishing her projects. She can become too focused on the material world… The Queen of Pentacles asks you to think and feel as she does. For example: Are you feeling warm and caring toward others? Are you being sensible? Have you been true to your word? Do you feel generous? Can you be counted on when times are tough?
Scorpio
The King of Swords is a man of intellect who can absorb and work with information of all kinds. As a master of reason and logic, he analyses any problem with ease. He works out solutions quickly and explains them lucidly to others. In chaotic situations, he cuts through the confusion and provides the clarity needed to move forward. He is always truthful and can be relied on to handle any situation fairly and honourably. This week, take the kinds of actions he might take: telling the truth; thinking up a solution; communicating well; judging fairly.
Sagittarius
The High Priestess is about knowledge that you need and that can be revealed. This knowledge is beyond logic. You must access and trust your intuition if you hope to understand it – relaxation and meditation are the ways to do this. Refrain from action for a while and instead take the time to search within yourself for the wisdom you need to move on. It could also mark the beginning of a spiritual journey. Capricorn
The 2 of Cups promises a strong and passionate relationship. Such a relationship brings beauty and power to life. The key here is the coming together of two things that creates a third thing that is, in and of itself, powerful, beautiful and passionate. Let your most important relationships know how much they mean to you.
Aquarius
The 4 of Pentacles indicates that you are secure, in that you have what you need, but you’re holding on to it and not wanting to share, whether it’s money, possessions or love. You’re afraid of not having enough or that someone may take it away so you’re withholding. Relax and stop penny-pinching – you have enough to go around. By holding on so tight, you’re blocking anything else coming in – you’re telling the Universe that you don’t have enough. You might feel as if you’re being controlled by another or perhaps you’re holding on to a situation that no longer serves you because it gives you security. Don’t be afraid to let go.
Pisces
The 9 of Pentacles represents the achievement of good things. Not only have you prospered, but you’ve done so in a way that you feel good about. You appreciate and cultivate the best of everything life has to offer, physically, intellectually, emotionally and spiritually. This card can also indicate the enjoyment of simple but decadent physical pleasures and treats.
